Are women more likely to have allergic reactions to drugs than men? Is Lupus a role?

I am continually development of allergic reactions to drugs and is actually worse. Tonight, I took aspirin and broke into hives and my eyes swelled up together. That left for me to take Tylenol only when in pain. What happens when an allergy to it? I have yo-yo ANA, speckled. C-3 and C-4 is yo-yo as well, so have not been diagnosed with lupus.

I have not seen any studies that have shown that women are more likely to be allergic to medicines, but it makes sense by the fact that women's bodies do not process medications the same way the body of a man does. They are trying to do more research on gender specific medical treatment to make it easier to treat women. I've known several people (many of them women) who are allergic to the dyes in drugs. It is possible that for some if the lupus is an issue that could make it harder to take medications. This would be an interesting question for a rheumatologist as well.
